Dr. Kanan Dave is a board-certified oral medicine specialist with interest and clinical experience in providing dental care to medically compromised patients, diagnosing complex pain cases, and mucocutaneous lesions.
She is currently a full-time assistant professor in oral medicine at Schulich School of Dentistry- University of Western Ontario-London. Dr. Dave completed her oral medicine specialty training at the University of Toronto. Dr. Dave completed her MSc at the University of Toronto and her research expertise is in oral pre-cancer and cancer, the novel methods of detection, and the future of targeted therapy in pre-cancer.
She has presented her research at a joint meeting of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology (AAOMP) and the International Association of Oral Pathology (IAOP) where she won the prize for best poster. Prior to this, she obtained her dental degree and Master’s in Dental Surgery (Oral Medicine and Radiology) from Gujarat University. She attained postgraduate diplomas in Advanced Clinical Research (PGDACR) and Hospital Management (PGDHM), through which she explored her interests in clinical research and management.
Dr. Dave is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentistry of Canada and a member of the Canadian and American Academy of Oral Medicine & Pathology.
